Q 10. Disability supports for adults with CF.
(MOB: Mobility Allowance, DSP: Disability Support Pension, NDIS: National Disability Insurance Scheme) Of the 57 adults with CF who responded to our survey, 9 had applied for access to the NDIS. Of these, 6 had their applications rejected and 3 currently have an NDIS plan (data not shown). Anecdotally, the few people with CF who have been granted access to the NDIS to date have been approved due to: a) presence of a coexisting condition, b) they were receiving disability supports prior to roll-out of the NDIS, or c) they were assigned the incorrect disability by the initial assessment officer. |
